About the Author
Lisa Sun-Hee Park is Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of Minnesota. She is the author of Consuming Citizenship: Children of Asian Immigrant Entrepreneurs and the co-author, with David Pellow, of The Slums of Aspen: Immigrants vs. the Environment in America's Eden and Silicon Valley of Dreams: Immigrant Labor, Environmental Injustice, and the High Tech Global Economy, also available from NYU Press.
David N. Pellow is the Dehlsen Chair of Environmental Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara. His teaching and research focus on environmental and ecological justice in the U.S. and globally.

This book was so compelling and informative. I could not put it down. I have recommended it to several people. I especially recommend to those who study environmental science & sustainability, social justice, and any social science.

Great theme, could use more robust evidence

Got this book as part of a class in grad school. I live in Colorado and am familiar with Aspen and the surrounding communities. The narrative in the book seems pretty accurate according to what I have observed as well. It would be more convincing though if they would have had the time and resources to conduct more formal research to investigate this issue. But, the book does make an excellent point and I would highliy recommend it.
